Well, in brief, Nitin Gadkari is a senior politician and President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of Maharashtra state, who is is tipped to become the national President of the BJP, the main  opposition party in India.

Nitin Gadkari (Marathi: नितीन गडकरी), the politician, an Industrialist and Agriculturist, was born in Nagpur, Maharashtra on May 27, 1957. He is believed to be the favourite of Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership as well. His educational qualification is M. Com., L.L.B., D.B.M., all from Maharashtra, India.

So far Gadkari has kept a very low profile in the national politics. But all is going to change. We will hear much about him in the days to come.

At 52, for BJP standard he is considered as a young blood. It is good to see an alternative leadership from the BJP. Let’s hope BJP now will play a constructive opposition party instead of squabbling over the top job.
