Was Mizoram State created to satisfy Christians?
Well, that’s what Mr. Virag Pachpore wrote in December 27 issue of The Organiser magazine, the mouth-piece of (Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh) RSS, perhaps the biggest Hindutva organisation in India.
Quote:
Nagaland was created in 1960 to satisfy the Christian missionary-led separatists, while Meghalaya was created in 1971 when the Indira Gandhi government gave in to the pressure of the Christian Church leaders. Same was the case with Mizoram which was granted statehood in 1987 by Rajiv Gandhi Government. Compared to these the recent formation of Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh during the Vajpayee Government was smooth and without any pressure. Source: The Organiser.
The sacrifices made by Mizo National Front (MNF) have been forgotten in a stroke of pen. If the editors/columnists at the Orginiser continues to write such craps, they must know that the standard of the column reflects what the magazine really is! It is not a worthy column to be read by the masses.

Hahahaa bro thats what Organiser does all the time!!! I’ve been following that site for a long time now, regularly getting their articles as I subscribe to google alerts for Mizo, Mizoram etc. They are not a journalism website so don’t expect them to follow any journalism ethics. They’re a hardcore pro Hindutva site who wish to get rid of any non-Hindus in India and make this proud nation a pure Hindu nation. I read their articles whenever I feel like laughing out.
For example, one of their recent articles was about the Bru incident… they said all those houses were set on fire… by the Church! lolz. That all the arson (due to the killing of a Mizo by Brus) was not an ethnic problem, but rather a Christian conspiracy to get rid of non Christians in Mizoram, and termed it Christian terrorism :D
There is a link of Togadia on the primary navigation, so what do you expect? :)
You can’t change their mentality so ignore them. They are happy bashing any non Hindus and see only red (or should I say saffron). Cheers.

I thought it was obvious…
After independence, various princely states came together. The basis adopted was linguistic(language). There were cases in the north east which wanted to be formed on the basis of ethnicity or concentration of tribals and the other basis was religion. The threat and fear of possibly being over powered by the majority gave rise to calls for autonomy. Indians at large who know about NE know those people want to form there own little spaces and no not like outside interference. Hence india tries whatever possible to keep it’s involvement in the region to the minimal.
A society based on religion was considered a cause for worry and hence that area remains sealed off from the rest of india. Because assume if gujarat became a hindu state, that would stir up problems else where like kerala which has 50% hindu, 30 muslim, 20% christian. That state has almost reached a balance and almost any escalation would leave perceptual conflict. UP is not far also. There complex demographics is what prevents india from becoming a hindu nation even though the population has a deep fixation of identity with dharmic civilization – hinduism, buddhism, jainism, sikhism.
