Video: American Missionaries to Chin Hills speaking Hakha

The followings are video documentary of an American missionaries to Chin Hills who are still alive, speaking and singing in Hakha dialect.

You can hear the voice of 93 years old Rev. Dr. Robert Johnson known as Siangbawi Pa and Siangbawi Nu (Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson) too. One of their daughters Mrs. Ruth Christine will introduce you to the reunion they had in June 2008. Lai (Hakha Dialect) is very close to Mizo (Duhlian), usage of certain words like Khazingpa is more close to Mara – Khazohpa, Bawipa as ‘Beipa, etc. I could understand most of it. Perhaps that’s the reason why they are also called Laimi, the people in the middle (land).
