The first complete translation of the Holy Bible in Chin-Kuki-Mizo language

Among Chin-Kuki-Mizo tribes, the first people to own The Holy Bible in their own language were not Lusai (Lusei) or commonly known as Mizo, nor Laimi (India & Myanmar) nor Hmar.

It is Mara people. According to Maraland.net, the translation of the Holy Bible to Mara language was published in 1956 followed by Lusei (Mizo) after three* years in 1959, Hmar in 1968 and Paite in 1971.

The Bible translation into Kuki language was done in 1971, while the earliest known Chin Holy Bible was Lai (Hakha) in 1978.

Others in Northeast India : Assamese – 1833, Ao Naga – 1964, Kyong Naga – 1967 and Angami Naga – 1971. Khasi – 1891, Garo Achik – 1924, etc.
