AIZAWL, Feb, 20 – Mizoram is celebrating its 22nd statehood anniversary on Friday.  It was on this day, in 1987, the Union territory of Mizoram was elevated to a full fledged state to become the 23rd state of the Indian union.

Finally, something constructive and good for our people and  future generation is coming up in our state.

Aizawl, Oct 10: Hindu community in Mizoram has expressed gratitude to the majority Mizo Christians for being able to observe Durga Puja peacefully like in previous years while condemning persecution of Christian community in Orissa and other states.

Mawta Famine Relief Committee (MFRC) was formed in response to the Mawta Famine that has swept Chin state in Western Myanmar (bordering Mizoram and Manipur states of India) due to an extra-ordinary phenomenon called Mawta also known as Mautam, Mautaam, etc.

Mizoram Food & Civil Supplies Minister has denied any existence of famine in the state due to the flowering of bamboo and the subsequent rat menace that has left farmers no crops to harvest.

Mizoram government and Sinlung Hills Development Council (SHDC) held an important meeting on June 10, 2008 in Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram state.

WASHINGTON DC – In a bid to raise funds for mautam famine victims in India, a concert is being planned by Mizo Christian Fellowshi (MCF), USA. Popular music artists from Mizoram (India) are likely to be invited for the fund raising event.
