Sourabhee Debbarma from Agartala, the capital city of Tripura state in Northeast India became the first woman Indian Idol. She won the coveted singing competition on Sunday night amidst tight competitions from other contestants.

During the competition she said that she was trained by Beilaizi Bohia, a musician from Siaha (Saiha) Mizoram, Siaha based Moonlight Newspaper reported. Papa Beilaizi Bohia is an Evangelical Church of Maraland (ECM) mission worker stationed in Tripura.
