Some Thoughts on MizoBlog.Lawrkhawm.com
Today, I saw the launch of Mizo Blog Lawrkhawm, which is a website aggregating all blog sites of Mizo, mostly Lusei (Lusai) or Duhlian speaking Mizos.
What is it about?
What it does is pull all the latest posts from all the Mizo blogs whose feeds have been configured, not to forget - most blogs come with ready feeds by default and display them in the website. It is nothing but an feeds (RSS, Atoms, etc) reader.
I had been using Google Reader for quite sometime and the functions are pretty much the same. But the plus point for a website is that it is something anyone can access on the internet. I highly recommend everyone to visit this RSS reader website.
Lusei, Lushai, Lusai, Duhlian speaking Mizo blog :
As I have mentioned earlier it is far from including all Mizo blog sites - it contains mostly Duhlian speaking Mizo blogs and their interests. Let’s hope they include more Mizo blogs on the list. Actually, this is another trend among some Duhlian speaking Mizos, it’s that they simply ignore non-Duhlian speaking Mizos and have not tried to include them under any Mizo related matters. Therefore, Mizo blog doesn’t contains any non-Duhlian speaking Mizo blogs. For such matter Zawlbuk.net is a place to discuss.
I’m happy with Netvibes:
Lately, I have stopped using Google Reader but have switched on to NetVibes.com. It is a little advance than most of the so-called Feed Readers. It is more like a website displaying the latest posts from websites that I subscribed - and with more options. And at a glance one gets to see the latest updates from all the websites that are being subscribed. All one has to do is sign in to Netvibes.com. However, if someone comes up with a website like the functions we have in netvibes I will be the first one to switch there.
Can such useful website include non-blog websites?
Definitely Yes, it depends on the presence of feeds on the website. For example, maraland.net has feeds so it can be subscribed (I saw the feed when I visit the website from firefox), however, websites like Zawlbuk.net doesn’t have feeds for now, though backend.php used to be default feeds for any postnuke powered websites, it is unfortunately not activated. Otherwise, we will be able to see the latest posts from Zawlbuk.net in Mizoblog at lawrkhawm.com as well or at any other feed readers.

I’ve been using bloglines for quite a long time now and I am pretty satisfied with its performance. Yeah zawlbuk.net doesn’t have a feed. Even e-pao doesn’t have a feed either. Bummer.
Apart from bloglines subscription, my google alerts does a great job informing me about all the latest updates with specific keywords… thats how I came and visited this particular post in the first place :)

I prefer RSS-Email newsletter. There are ways to create feed to websites without feeds. one being http://www.feedity.com/
