Saiha Dist. unhappy with ‘Mautam’ Relief fund allocation

According to Saiha Daily newspaper - Moonlight, people of Saiha district are very disappointed at the way Baffacos distributed Mautam Relief fund to each districts in the state.

The newspaper wonders why less funds were allocated to Saiha district consecutively for two years while the rest of the 7 districts get almost the same funds averaging at 150 lacs per district while Saiha gets only 30 lacs only this year though less funds are allocated to it last year too. These funds come from the central government through Baffacos which is under Mizoram state government.

The figures are as follows; look hard to see how unfairly the funds are allocated.

THIS YEAR 2007:

1.Aizawl dist Rs.300 lakhs
2.Mamit Rs.150 lks
3.Kolasib Rs.150 lks
4.Serchhip Rs.150 lks
5. Saiha Rs.30 lks
6.Lawngtlai Rs.40 lks
7.Lunglei Rs.90 lks
8.Champhai Rs.90 lks

LAST YEAR 2006

In fact, it is a shameful thing to even show such figures in public like this. :)
