Hi Guys,

My Brother in Law is traveling to Dubai to visit us for 2 weeks. The visa issued to him is Tourist Visa. He has an Emigration Check Required on his passport. Does he need permission from POE to travel even for tourism or is it required only for employment visa.

Also, is the POE office in Mumbai open on Saturdays?

Apply for the new passport. It will take only few days. And you should furnish any pass certificate of Class X (10th Standard) or above. When they issued you the new passport, you must continue to carry the old passport containing the visa, as long as the visa is valid. Whenever you travel, you must carry both the passports. One for emigration check and stamping at airport, the other for the visa. Hope this helps.

My passport is ECR so I visited regional Passport office but they have stopped the ECNR stamping activity and they say that reissue the Passport so advise me what to do

Hi Usha, to get ECNR you can use any of the certificates above HSLC (Class 10) including HSLC. If you don’t have your degree certificate, you can use HSLC or HSSLC (Secondary leaving certificate). Both are valid. But you must apply from the Regional Passport office that issued your current passport. No other RPO can issue this. Hope this clears the doubt. i have to get an ecnr stamp in my passport can you tell what all documents are required for this and i dont have my degree certificate only i have got provisional certificate and no mark sheet also….can i get my ecnr stamp done at any passport office or i have to go to the same passport office from where i got my passport…please revert back thank you…..

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMPT REPLY, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE EMPLOYEE HAS TO TAKE A INSURANCE POLICY AS WELL.
ALSO WHEN WE CALLED IN POE OFFICE THEY SAY THAT IF ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS ARE OK WE WILL RECEIVE THE DOCUMENTS AND THE ORIGINAL PASSPORT, BUT THE SIGNATURE OF THE OFFICER COULD TAKE TIME, MAY BE 2 WORKING DAYS.
PLS INFORM SOON. BECAUSE I HAD TO DO TICKETS AS WELL.

Hi Kishore, this is not an official POE website. We are here to help you.

1). POE office remains open on Friday, the 19th August as usual. The timing is the same as other usual offices ( 9 to 5).
2). An all inclusive fee of Rs.300/- is to be paid along with the application form either in cash or by bank draft drawn in favour of Regional Passport Officer, Delhi. Nothing more.
3). It will take less than one hour depending on the length of the queue. Sometimes, it just takes few minutes. It is a very simple procedure.

DEAR SIR,

MY NEW EMPLOYEE HAS TO VISIT YOUR OFFICE (POE) IN DELHI. WE HAVE DONE ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATIONS HERE IN DUBAI AT INDIAN CONSULATE AND HAVE ALREADY FORWARDED THE ORIGINALS TO OUR NEW EMPLOYEE.
PLEASE INFORM ME:
1) 1) IS YOUR OFFICE OPEN ON THIS FRIDAY 19TH AUGUST. ALSO PLS INFORM ME THE TIMINGS.

2) 2) HAS HE TO PAY ANY CHARGES THERE IN YOUR OFFICE. IF YES THEN WHAT CHARGES AND HOW MUCH? (AS I WAS TOLD THAT SOME INSURANCE CHARGES ARE THERE)

3) 3) HOW MUCH TIME WILL IT TAKE TO GET THE ECNR STAMP DONE, SO THAT I COULD BOOK IS TRAVEL ON THE SAME DATE FROM DELHI TO DUBAI, AS HE IS TRAVELLING FROM JAIPUR AND HE IS NOT FAMILIAR WITH DELHI.

I have ECR as yes in my passport and I want to travel to USA.so can anyone tell me if ECNR is required on my passport to visit USA or not.
