Siaha - Mara Thyutlia Py (MTP), the biggest NGO among Mara youngsters in Southern Mizoram celebrated its 54th Anniversary day yesterday, October 9, 2007.

MTP day was celebrated throughout Mara district. A public holiday was declared in towns and villages where MTP has branches and members in South Mizoram.

For New Siaha MTP Branch, they organized a function at Siaha Tourist Lodge that includes dinner at 5pm attended by members of Saiha District Development Vigilant Committee.

Later the night, at 6pm another function was held by College Vaih MTP branch led by its President Puhpa S. Zahli.

MTP Hqrs. President Dr. K. Beichhua spoke at the function and said that the resolution adopted by MTP Hqrs on fighting drugs and alcohols have a great impact on the society. He said that these days, one doesn’t see troublemakers in the streets anymore which is the direct result of the hardwork put up by MTP workers and the support of the general public.

Once again, MTP Hqrs. declared College Vaih as the most clean Vaih (street) within Siaha town. It is the 7th consecutive year for College Vaih to have achieved such honour.
