The distribution of Moonlight Award, often dubbed as South Mizoram’s version of the famed Lelte Award from Aizawl, was once again given out during an entertaining 2-day functions held at Siaha (Saiha) on December 10 and 11.

Chief Guests for the two nights were M. Laikaw, CEM, Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC) and Dr. LT Tluanga, Chief Medical Officer, Siaha. The hosts of the events were K. Zokhai and Sangbawihi.

Apart from the local artists, Guest Artists – Malsawmtluangi Fanai, Mimi Lalzamliani, C.Lalthlengliana, MS. Dawngliana, Rosy K. Remsangpuii, TBC Zaithanpuia, PB Sanghlunpuii, Jessica B. Khuhly and CR. Dingliani were present at the function entertaining the crowd.

The celebration reached its peak on the final night which went on till mid-night.

Moonlight Award 2008 were awarded to the following persons:

1. Male singer of the year  –  LB Nohro
2. Female singer of the year  –  S. Siamkungi
3. Gospel singer of the year –  T. Samari
4. Gospel male singer of the year –  Lalhmingliana Chhangte
5. New Artist of the year   -   C. Reuben Kypacha(Pahnai)
6. Choir of the year  -   ECM Choir
7. Rapper of the year  – Benjamin Colney
8. Sport person of the year -  Gloria
9. Lai dist best female Artist -  Rosy K.Remsangpuii
10. Lai dist best male artist -  TBC Zaithanpuia
11. Lifetime achievement(Music) -  Beithakhu Hlychho
12. Special Award   – MS Dawngliana
13. Special Award   – S. Lalrimawii
14. Special Award   – K. Saidi
15. Special Award   – Mimi Lalzamliani
16. Special Award   – Malsawmtluangi Fanai
17. Special Award   – C. Lalthlengliana
