MizoTube – Mizo video sharing website launched
MizoTube.com – a Mizo video sharng website was launched on November 3, 2008. Much like most of other Mizo websites that run on powered by the likes of cms and blogging softwares, MizoTube too is powered by readymade free video sharing script called phpmotion.com.
One must applause the good work from MizoSoft – who seems to be behind this, because it is not a joke to run any video sharing/hosting website. It consumes a lot of space and bandwidth meaning one has to shed a lot of money for hosting such websites. Even 3 to 5 minutes music video will be as big as 30MB to 100MB (the limit allowed by Youtube until recently). And the bandwidth it is going to use is not thinkable; it is huge. You may check the Hosting plans here, this sort of hosting may require Dedicated hosting will will cost atleast US $40 per month.
Anyone with basic hosting knowledge may be to launch such websites but to maintain and to finance such a big scale takes dedication, passion and love for the cause.
Congratulations to MizoTube team for launching this website. Let’s hope many people will start using this video sharing website.

It looks like someone has taken, or otherwise, the registrant does not wish to let his/her name appear in the ‘whois’. Will it come back? I don’t know.. It was first hacked and no action was taken, now it seems to have disappeared…..btw, http://www.chintube.com is using phpmotion version 3 unlike Mizotube’s version 2. It seems to be better as well… but like any open source softwares, it may still be vulnerable to hackers…
