The concert was organized by Mara Thyutlia Py (MTP - Young Mara Association), Gen. Hqrs. Siaha and Mara Hlasapa Py (MHP) - Mara Singers Association, India) for Myanmar MTP, who are doing their best to help the famine victims across Chin state in Myanmar. Shri. M. Laikaw, CEM, MADC, Siaha and Dr. L.T Tluanga, CMO, Saiha were Chief Guests on the first and the second night respectively. Rev. Ch. Chhama held devotion on the first night.
Mara artists who performed on the first night are:
1. A. Chhualai
2. T. Samari
3. Damari Hlychho
4. S. Ngopathai
5. A. Beimopha
6. J. Ruby
7. P. Dorcus
8. C. Toto
9. L. Ngiarili
10. Beilaicho Hlychho
11. L.C. Lysia
12. Vabeikhaisa
13. N. Chhotlua
More artists are expected to perform on the second night.
Note: Much like other Zo/Chin people, today half of Mara people are living in East Maraland. Their land comes under Myanmar as Chin state. Myanmar military government is notorious for doing nothing for its suffering people and it is true to its image of not doing anything for Zo/Chin people at this time too. The effect of Mautam famine is being felt all over Chin state which is a continuation of the same geographical landscape in Mizoram. Though other Zo/Chin people in Mizoram(India) too are suffering, they are trying their best to help their brethren across the border so that the latter may also live and not die of hunger!
