MADC Election Fallout: MNF workers left Mara Church

Siaha (SMN) : Unhappy with the way in which United Legislature Party campaign in the recent concluded Election of Members of Mara Autonomous District Council, 17 households belonging to Mizo National Front (MNF) at Chakhei (Chakhang) town in Southern Mizoram have left Evangelical Church of Maraland (India), indefinitely

These MNF workers alleged that Evangelical Church of Maraland(India) tactically supported the United Legislature Party (ULP) comprised of Indian National Congress (INC) and Maraland Democratic Front (MDF) who joined hands to have successfully defeated MNF in the just concluded election. And therefore they said in the press statement sent to Siaha(Saiha), as an MNF workers they have no place in the Church anymore as the Church cannot accommodate them anymore.

When Samaw News Network contacted Siaha Correspondent, it is learned that all the 17 households belong to Nazareth Vaih (Street) and none from other Vaihs like Vaihpi, Chakheitla, etc do not go to the extreme of leaving the Church. And out of 17 households, 13 households have come back to the Church and 4 of them are still out of the Church. ECM(I) officials are visiting Chakhei tomorrow and will try their best to make peace with them.
