According to recent service tax collection for the year 2006 – 2007 by the IT Deptt., Gov’t of India, Bollywood ‘King’ Shahrukh Khan is the highest tax payers among Bollywood actors; NDTV reported.
he is followed by Amitabh Bachchan and his son Abhishek Bachchan. Sharukh Khan paid Rs.4.8 Crore as service tax, which is almost 10% of his income from his earning from advertisements of about Rs.50 Crore per annum.

The following is the list of the Highest Tax Payers among Bollywood actors:
- Shahrukh Khan – Rs.4.8 crore
- Amitabh Bachchan – Rs.1.5 Crore
- Abhishek Bachchan – Rs.1 Crore
- Rani Mukherjee – Rs.1 Crore
- John Abraham – Rs.79 Lakhs
- Sushmita Sen – Rs.37.5 Lakhs
- Preity Zinta – Rs.27.43 Lakhs
- Salman Khan – Rs.13.50 lakhs
- Malaika Arora Khan – 3 Lakhs
- Lara Dutta – About Rs. 2.93 lakhs

I pay roughly the amount Lara Dutta pays every three months towards VAT but she seems to be much better off than me…
