John Terry has been stripped of his Captaincy of England National football team  after revelations about his personal life began to emerge, notably an alleged affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the former girlfriend of England teammate Wayne Bridge.

An official statement from the English Coach, Fabio Capello also confirmed, “After much thought, I have made the decision that it will be best for me to take the captaincy away from John Terry.”

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has been named the new Captain of England, he will lead the English team at the World Cup in South Africa, with Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard named vice-captain.
