To begin, ‘Vanity Fair’ is not a magazine geared toward children. Unlike ‘Tiger Beat’ or ‘Seventeen’ or any of the other (pre)adolescent publications out there, it appeals to a more mature audience, not impressionable children seeking trendy role models (though it’s arguable the adults also have their own). The point: the photo *is* beautiful, as gifted and respected photographer Annie Leibovitz defended. It is the public’s catlike tendencies and overdramatic desire for scandal which has tainted the shoot and its results. Miley is a beautiful young girl in these pictures. The shading, the angles, the coloring are fantastic and the truth is that 15 year old girls *are* beginning to view themselves as creatures embarking on their sexual age, judging themselves in seductive poses, even though many wouldn’t have the faintest idea of what to do in a situation requiring them. I think Leibovitz’s shots capture the age of the star and the definitive stage of female development completely. To see it through an even more basic perspective, the pictures are simply aesthetically pleasing works. How can we not focus on the beauty? Must we leer at the photos through the eyes of a hormonally charged teenager, even though such a viewer was never the focus audience? Please give more credit where it is due, both to the teen star and the well-trained eye behind the camera.

It isn’t about what she’s wearing. It is the message. I KNOW that she is covered up, but she is wearing a sheet. That’s like Miley wearing a stripper costume. Technically she would still have clothes on, but the message would be disgusting, slutty. I do not have anything against Miley, but against teen stars in general who are supposed to be role models and do something that role models shouldn’t do. I would not suggest ruining their careers over these things, but I would suggest they find them more sophisticated/older roles.

We should not be blaming Miley, she is only 15. The blame or should i say shame should be placed on the parents, they know better. My daughter is also 15 and she likes Miley. She also liked Brittney Spears. I stopped her from watching her a long time ago. Now its time to stop watching Miley. Miley if you read this God loves you. Remember respect yourself and others will respect you. I hope the lifestyle does not do to you what it does to all other child stars, you will be in our prayers.
