Football : Iraq lifts Asian Cup 2007
Jakarta: Iraq National Football team defeated their Saudi Arabia counterpart 1-0 in the final match and claimed their first ever Asian Cup on Sunday.
The Iraqi team includes Sunnis, Shias and Kurds and has been widely praised for its uniting influence on the country.
Thousands of fans took to the streets across the country to mark the celebration. It has been the only good news where car bombs, suicide bombs, death and bloodshed are the norms of their everyday lives.
