Hi Virendra, if the new passport is issued, that will be used for your emigration status when they check. As for the Work Visa, you still have to carry your old passport. Whenever necessary, you will have to show your old passport for the visa. Carry both the passport while traveling.

My passport is ECR so I visited Passport regional offices but Now a days they stopped the ECNR Stamping activity and as per him i will have to reissue new passport. But I Already got work visa so my question is On same visa can I travel by using New reissued passport ?

Hi, it depends on your emigration status. If it is ECR, you will need emigration clearance for UAE. Just check your passport second page and act accordingly.

Does one need ECNR Stamping on his Indian passport to go to UAE dubai for employment.

Kindly help me out. I got my passport issued in the year march 2011 without having ECR or ECNR stamp on it. What does it imply.??

as my all pages left blank in passport, as i have got visa from trading company , have to move it to dubai.

please do clarify,

Hi Khushbu, passports issued after 2007 are left blank at emigration page. They are ECNR (not required) by default. Yours is ECNR. For Portugal, even if it is ECR, you still don’t need emigration suspension because Portugal is not an ECR country, especially for short term visit. Return ticket is not a must if you have got a visa. Apply the visa first and see if they ask for return ticket.

Hi Beita, Sorry to ask the same question however I want to be sure as I m little confused. My Passport has issued in 2010 with no ECR/ECNR stamp. I am planning to visit Portugal on a family visa (Short Term) to see my husband. Do I require ECNR stamp on my passport before leaving India?

Also, Please confirm, At Airport any officer check return ticket because I will not buy return ticket as Later I need to apply for my residence visa while living in Portugal. I am not sure weather its mandatory to have return ticket as If I will get the residence permit of-course I will not return. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Hi Vicky, it depends on the country he is planning to work. Whether it is an ECR country or not. For the latter it does not matter. And if he already got the job and the visa, he can apply temporary ECNR from any POE offices in India. They should issue him the temporary ECNR.

Kindly let me know, the person having ECR stamp on his passport and he got an offer to work in abroad because he is good enough but the person is not passes his 10th as well, will he get the ECNR ?
