When the so called Southerners (say Maras called themselves Mara and Maraland et al..we the Northerners (say the so called Mizo) regard the Maras as the outsiders.I do not see anything dusturbing about Maraland.All those guys who had misconception about Maras and its people should extensively explored Maraland and see the Maras are the real Tlaikoa (Mizo).When we have Nagaland witrhin India..why not Maraland within our fold…For God & Maraland.Long live Maraland.Mara leh Lai te chiah hi Mizo minority zinga arms la chelek lo an ni….Mara te ka ngaina a che u.

Hello everyone, thanks for commenting on the above article. Some of you have gone too far not dwelling on the subject and concern of the author. Some of you have spoken on a very sensitive issue and it is true, this is a very sensitive matter, at times it can get very emotional as well. Like Mr. Hlychho has just said, we the tribals living in Mizoram and Chin Hills, some part of Manipur, and its adjacent areas are all too close to separate one another and it is more complicated to speak who is Mara, who is Mizo, who is Lai, who is Zomi, who is Zophei, Vuangtu, etc. We can’t afford to fight one another but to respect one another and live in peace and harmony. Therefore, when some people look down on their brothers, it is our duty to correct them gently. Let peace prevail. In the interest of all the readers I’m closing the comment, I hope you understand.

Hi RTPA, I appreciate your apology but the impasse seems to be not just Aryan and Vangchhia. The problem is in the Identity. Since most of Duhlian speaking Mizos understand that Being Mizo is to speak Duhlian language the problem remains. Besides, the word Mizo is somehow alien to Mara people, go inside Mara Autonomous District Council administered area to understand this. Mara people know that the tribals in the region are all related and are very close to one another but they have not identified themselves with the word Mizo so far. On top of that some Duhlian speaking people are trying to force this new Mizoism concept down to our throat which we detest frankly speaking. Let’s hope we can find a better solution to this. And also, the first step will be recognizing our ‘chibil’ languages like Mara, Lai, Hmar, Paite, etc. as part of Mizo. Why on earth some guys think these people will accept Mizo II (two) status and unite with Duhlian speaking people as Mizo I(one)? Let’s face the truth. It won’t happen. Even though we live in a pluralistic society here in India, some Duhlian speaking guys still don’t seem to understand what is a pluralistic society is about. I read a lot about what Vangchhia and others have commented on Zo (Zomi), Mara and others at misual.com, their style of Unification of Zohnathlak is unacceptable nor it will work out. That will only remain as their dream. Words like, ‘even if Zomi, Mara, Hmar, Paite, etc do not want to claim themselves as Mizo, they are Mizo”. This is the most ridiculous way to force others. Because when they say that their agenda is understood. Khampat.com too often used such languages. We need to educate those guys.

There is only one way, that is Zohnathlak “Unification Without Assimilation”. I request Beita Jr/Samaw.com to expand this.
