I am surprised that my photo featured on this site without my permission. The Chakmas are no different than our other people(s) in Mizoram, indeed I had the best time of my travel with people in the south of Mizoram and also now recently in Champhai district.
One has to understand why they take bath in the river, at the time of sunset because they have no water connection for their privacy, just like other people in other Mizo villages takes bath in tuikhur or near water pumps. My heart bleeds when I picture something like this.
Why does’nt anyone want to understand the message I want to convey through my pictures. I am not taking pictures to make money….

Hi Shanaz Kimi, thanks a lot for letting us know that this particular photo belongs to you. Because of someone like you we could have this beautiful photo up in the internet. We wanted to apologize for not asking permission to use this photo in this website. You could have blasted us with stronger words, we are truly sorry about it.

Our problem: The Editor who posted this photo told us that he did not find this photo from http://www.shanazkimi.com where all the photos are copyrighted but from instead copied it from the Flickr and a word of thanks and link to the Flickr user ‘Pink Orleander’ is given. Upon a closer look Pink Oleander too happens to be none other than you again. But this is only an excuse we can’t escape the blame on our part.

I have added a photo source and credit link below the photo, we hope you will accept our humble apology on this and allow us to continue to keep the photo as it is. We hope many people will reach your website through the link above. Thanking you.

Once again thank you very much for sharing this photo with the world.

Apologies accepted:-) I do not mind people using my photos, but I only expect some basic courtesy that someone ask me first. I photograph a lot in Mizoram because I want to make people aware of our existence, and also that our own people will see the plight of their own people and help each other.

Actually, the photos on flickr are copyrighted too. However, I cannot stop someone from copying my pics as I choose to put them up on the net.
Cheers. I like your site and the awareness you are trying to spread. I will come back to Maraland someday and hope to take pictures of beautiful Mara girls too:-)

What about watermarking those photos like other professional photographers? In fact, yours are all very professional.

Congratulations! We heard that some of your photos appear in Mizoram calendar too.

Your personal photos at LK (visit to LK users at Synod office?) was a big hit among bloggers and Mizo net users. We have seen those photos too. Keep it up and thank you once again.

Hi, It’s really nice to see Chakma girls on the page. I spent most of the part of my medical carrer in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in Bangladesh. I was really excited. I never been to Mizoram but always desired to. I watched Mizoram from the hills of Bangladesh (it is right on the other side of the border). I heard there is a place in Mizoram inhabited by Chakma community ,known as ‘Champak Nagar’. Thank you Shahnaz.

I really felt so surprise when i saw the picture of the chakma girls that they are taking bath in the river.I am feeling so pity for them as they are innocent. If they know about it they may feel bad as their dresses are not match to keep in the net profile.

The Chakmas live in Mizoram yet a far reach of modern facilities due to so many obstracles creat by majority people in the area for which they are force to live in the state of nature as one should understand immidiately after reading the female picture as taken. Thank the photographer being exposing the conditions of her cast conditions.

Hi..! This is Sujan (Bengali), i am born in Tlabung and i am permantly staying at Tlabung. I have a Mobile Shop at Tlabung and mxmum of my Customers are Chakmas. They are so innocent and broadminded. I am glad to see and quite surprised to see that photo, Chakma Girls taking bath in the river.. But, i would like to make a comment for all the visitors of this site, that they should not make any bad comments about that picture (girls taking bath at river) b’coz those who haven’t visied Tlabung or stayed at Tlabung (Dimagiri) will not understand about thier culture.. They are just innocent and good.. One more thing i know all the girls taking bath (seen in the photos)..
