I grew up in Aizawl city. These pictures make me wanna go home! I miss the food, the weather, my friends, my family. The energy I get in Aizawl is something beyond physical, it feels like I put my finger inside an electric socket everytime I go there. When I was studying for my college in Aizawl city, my friends and I used to attend pool side parties at the outskirt picnic spots, those were one of the best times of my life, the party goes on till morning, sometimes it ends sooner, summer was the hype of the party season, commercial ones that even have proper theme and a name, The Pink Party for instance, it was held in 2008 at a picnic spot near the old Tuikual airfield; pink was all over as the name suggested, pink balloons on the pool, pink ribbons, pink disposable cubs, pink drinks (illegal ones) and if you’re popular, party organizers wants you to be there so tickets come in for free courtesy of my famous for being gay friend Goosh Vangchhia (gooshness.blogspot.com) the long rides we used to take, rides without any destinations, the stranger that puts out her hand from a moving vehicle to touch your hand just to prove that she is having fun. I can go on and on. I would say that, everywhere I go, I search for Aizawl, when I’m in London, I search for Aizawl, when I’m in Tokyo, the same thing. I will wrap this yacking by saying that all I want to do right now is to hang out at the Aizawl mall, smoke weed, and stare at people..

I was not born in Aizawl, but i studied in Aizawl. I used to miss all my friends of classmate and
all. i want to eat like mizo baih, mizo vawksa, antam etc. ka ngai thin hle mai. Here in Meghalaya
i never get those types of things. Chawlh neihlai hian ka lo chho ve thin a, mahse a rei lo thin
lutuk! O Zoram! Ka ram neihchhun, dam reng ang che!

ka lo kal dawn,

Recently two of my childhood friend passed away. I regret that on there final journey
I couldn’t accompanied them to the ” bed to heaven”. I really missed you. Subash subba
and Denis ( Donated your eyes ) as per the newspaper site that I normally go thru every
week. Its been years that I haven’t gone back to my hometown and I am repenting and
curse myself. My eyes fills with tears when I recollect the wonderful times spent, do weird
things and what not……. We will meet.

I wish a remote controller was in my hand which saves life. Unfortunately such ………
God’s call.

I was born in aizawl and right now am studying in kolkata still I used to visit in the vacations.I really miss aizawl for all the mizo culture,sunrise,sunsets,food like bai etc,sunday school.

Hello Aizawl!
O my God! I am missing..missing…missing… the beautiful peak at Durtlang, the Sun-Set, the Sun-Rise, the wind, the winter Sunflowers, the night view of Aizawl, the way from Leitang to Bawngkawn etc.etc.etc
I was at durtlang for 6 years(2001-2006) and …Now..Now i m missing that place…..
Sometimes my tears …..

Hi Souvik, the best way is to know more about the state is to visit in person. However, you will need an Inner Line Permit (someone call it a Visa to restricted area within India) to enter Mizoram. You can get it from Mizoram House in Kolkata or elsewhere.

I am bengali… & a traveler. I wish to go to mizoram. I heard its a peaceful place. My dad was posted there for few years. I want to knw more abt mizoram. Want to take away myself from north indians hindi people.

I was born n brought up in Aizawl. I have spent my childhood days i,e rosy days. I find quite a no of mizos in Delhi but most of them had become like North Indians and so
i don’t mingle with them much. Sad, right!!!!!!!

I don’t meant to hurt the sentiment but to express the ground realities. Thank you, ka lawm e.
