GUWAHATI: The Army has cautioned the Mizoram Government that illegal immigration from Myanmar into the State needs to be discouraged as it has security overtones.

General Officer Commanding 3 Corps Lt Gen N. K. Singh told journalists at the Corps headquarters at Rangapahar in Nagaland’s commercial capital Dimapur that he had taken up the issue of illegal immigration of people from Myanmar with Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla and impressed upon him that such immigration was not good for security in the long run and should be discouraged.
